Avoid prolonged standing.
Avoid standing for a long period of time and take a rest by sitting with the legs in a slightly higher position for about 5-10 minutes every hour. Instead of taking a rest, you can use your leg muscles by walking on the spot, which improves venous return.

Keep your legs in a position slightly higher than your heart while sleeping. During pregnancy, pay particular attention to any swollen vessels in your legs.
