Our History

1955

Tokyo Eizai Lab Co., Ltd. founded. Be issued patent for the "Speed Gyps" plaster bandage. Start of manufacture and sales activities.

1956

Speed Gyps taken to the South Pole by "Soya", the first Japanese observation ship.

1965

At the request of the National Cancer Center, the first domestic ostomy bag, "LAPACK", developed and sold on the domestic market.

1974

Establishment of an information center, "Happy Life Club", to support and assist ostomates to reintegrate into society.

1979

Thermoplastic cast named "PLITON" marketed. Patents granted in Japan and the USA.

1982

Relocation of manufacturing plant to Chiba Factory

1985

"ALCARE Impetus Prize" initiated within the Orthopedic Disaster Surgery Subsidy Foundation.Researchers' sponsorship program set up.

1990

Participated in WCET Toronto Convention and SICOT Montreal Convention and provided exhibits.

1992

Company name changed to ALCARE Co., Ltd.

1993

"Happy Life Club" a home healthcare division, was established as a separate company named ZAITAC Co., Ltd.

1994

Our Chiba Factory nominated as a "Model plant for streamlining medium-and-small sized businesses".

1996

Our Chiba Factory qualifies for ISO 9002. World standard quality management system established.


In our capacity as main sponsor, we supported the international Stoma Rehabilitation Society in holding an Asian Forum by inviting physicians, ETs and nurses from Asian countries.

1997

Head Office moved to Arca Towers in Kinshi-cho, Sumida-ku, Tokyo.

1998

Started to develop the sports care business, introduced the new brand "REGUARD".

1999

New building of Medical Engineering Research Lab. completed.

2005

Acquisition of ISO13485 certification

2006

Grand Prize at the 11th Chiba Energetic Company Competition

2007

The 25th Ostomate Meeting

The meeting has been promoted as an exchange opportunity for patients/medical professionals/manufacturers for 25 years. A total of 10,000 persons participated in this meeting for this period.

2009

Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Award for Cellcare 2 in the 3rd Japan Manufacturing Grand Competition


FUKURO HOUSE was used as a facility for collaboration in 2009 Good Design Awards.


Excellent Award for Cellcare 2 in the 2009 Tokyo Metropolitan Venture Technology Grand Competition

2010

Invention Grand Prize for QUICK FIX


Excellent Prize for OPTICURE SPLINT in the 22nd Smaller Business Excellent Technology/New Product Competition
